French Creek State Park & Glow Worms

Today we hiked 4 miles at French Creek State Park and I collected 4 different kinds of acorns.

This is the time of year to see mushrooms.

It was fun seeing some Paw Paw trees.  They produce the largest edible fruit native to North America.

This is also the time of year to see glow worms at night.  We can just walk outside our house and find them along the driveway and in the grass.  So next time you go out to see the stars, don’t forget to look down at the glow worms too.  Hopefully you’ll find some, I’m not sure if they are as easy to find as they are here where we live.

  1. I have never heard of glow worms. Here in the desert we don’t even get fire flies. I loved seeing those when I was a little girl. I can’t remember what state I saw them in. We traveled through different states when we lived in North Dakota and Texas at different times. I also saw fire flies in Tuscany during the summer when we stayed at my husband’s aunts villa.
