“Somewhere within you is a huge supply of happiness, always there, patiently waiting for you to reach out and grab it. It’s yours for the asking. And you ask by giving it your attention.” -Elle Sommer
I have loved hiking since I was a kid and luckily I married someone who loves to go along with me. We have hiked so often that we have probably covered thousands of miles over the years. This has made a significant difference in my life and has had an impact on my overall health. Over time I have gained a lot of perspective and can see the big picture in many areas of my life. I understand that health, well-being, peace, and freedom are already within me just waiting to be seen. Nature reminds us of this simple truth.
When I go hiking I love to stop and look at a beautiful flower, mushroom, bird, anything and everything -which I’m sure is obvious from looking at the pictures I have taken. Sometimes I look up stuff to find out what it is, but for the most part it’s nice to just appreciate the beauty that surrounds us and the opportunity to heal and restore ourselves.
