Welcome to my blog! I love to share my notes about gardening. I’m so happy spring is here and it’s so much fun getting your hands in the dirt after a long winter. ❤
Pansies thrive in cool weather, so it’s important to buy them as early in the spring season as possible. That way they will have plenty of time to establish so you can enjoy their lovely display. When the temps warm up, they will die off and as long as you water them throughout the summer, they will perk back up in the fall. I’m in zone 6b of course and it will vary in other zones.
I usually plant them in pots at first and any extras near my hyacinth. Then in the warm months, I move them all to the ground at the base of other plants for shade and let them hang out.
Every year I pick out two different color combinations. Last year, it was yellow and red. This year I’m doing light & dark purple. Because I have decided that purple is my new favorite color. 🙂
These are labeled viola but I call them johnny jump-ups.
Rosy, my assistant, is going to help me get started then let me finish up and go roll around in the sunshine. Perhaps I will join her. 🙂
