Wildflower Walk – July 13, 2020

We saw a new wildflower called wood sage on our walk yesterday morning. I used my plant id app to find out what it was. At home, I looked it up in my wildflower book to see if it’s native to Pennsylvania and it is. This made me so happy. ;o) I will have to pick up some wood sage seeds for the garden.

We walked down a side trail off the main trail just to see where it went. It was a short trail over to ruins of an old cement bridge and that’s where I spotted this flower. Our curiosity led us to a new discovery! We love exploring side trails and roads because you never know what treasures you’ll find.

The Schuylkill river is along the main trail. It looked beautiful with the river birch and water sparkling in the sunshine. ❤ On the way home we also explored some side roads that were really pretty.
