Foxglove Beardtongue

Foxglove beardtongue is currently blooming in our native plant garden. We have seen this plant growing along hiking trails, and picked some up last fall at the native plant sale.

Interesting Plants at Bowman’s Hill

Today, I’d like to share a few pictures from a recent trip to Bowman’s Hill Wildflower Preserve. If you’re a plant enthusiast like me then you will enjoy learning about these unique discoveries. Summer Wildflowers

Hello, it feels like summer is here lately. I love the sunshine and so does the garden. My well established native plants are going to flower soon. The butterflies, hummingbirds, and beneficial insects will visit once again. I planted wildflower seeds over the weekend, so I can’t wait to see them grow as well. I’ll…

Baby Ducks

We had lunch at the park where we saw baby ducks.

Indigo Bunting

An indigo bunting has been enjoying the feeder outside my kitchen window today. I’m so glad hubby figured out how to stop the squirrel from eating all of the birdseed. They are beautiful!

Yellow Lady’s Slipper

We stopped by Hawk Mountain Sanctuary to walk around the native plant garden. I was happy to see Yellow Lady’s Slipper blooming. It’s rare to find in the wild and one of my favorites. We also saw Jacob’s Ladder at Hawk Mountain. Here are some more pictures from our recent walks. A beautiful view along…
