Curious Crab

I love the ghost crabs along the beach. There are really small ones, then there are the big ones.  They are so cute.  I love watching them come out of their burrows then when a bird flies over, they scurry back inside.  They usually run away from people too, but this curious one in the…

Summer Walk Poem

A warm summer morning, full of peace and wonder, to capture and write about the beauty I saw on my walk. Blue skies and soft clouds, dragonflies and sun rays, red-winged black birds calling, and wild roses along the way. Following the breeze to the sea where I find calm ocean waves, seagulls, crabs, and…

Tomato Growing Tips

I’m sharing things I learn about gardening from my experiences.  I like to experiment to see what works.   Last year I learned that in order to keep tomatoes from splitting, the plants need consistent watering.  I’ve been using weed barrier without knowing that it’s not the best thing for vegetable gardens.  It’s better to…

Drawstring Bag

Sometimes I like to make things with my hands and find it so relaxing. This basic drawstring bag is for my next road trip to the beach.🐬 It will come in handy for seashells, makeup, or snacks.🐚  I’m going to play around with this project for a while, and maybe do french seams on the…

Garden Projects

We are working on two new projects for our garden.  Hubby did an awesome job digging up the grass, adding dirt, and mulching on each side of the front walkway. He found this beautiful red salamander. I planted phlox, impatiens, marigolds, and added a couple of solar lights. The second project is a spot behind…

The veggies are heirloom tomatoes, little orange tomatoes, zucchini, sweet banana peppers, orange bell peppers, and cucumbers.  I also have contender string bean seeds and salad bowl lettuce seeds to plant. My herbs…

Little Buffalo & Reeds Gap

We visited the Butterfly Garden at Little Buffalo State Park.  A lady volunteer told us to look under the leaves of the milkweed and I found the cutest little monarch butterfly caterpillar. Then we traveled to Reeds Gap State Park to hike for a few miles.  The area where we parked was full of so…

Ricketts Glen State Park

This is one of our favorite trails to hike.  I loved that I found Blue Bottle Gentian along the trail, one of my favorite native wildflowers.  The Asters are a sure sign that fall is coming.

Super Cute Rosy

I had to share these super cute photos of Rosy.  She just woke up!  Stretch, yawn, cute overload.

Summer Grass

I was sitting on the swing while my coffee brewed and something caught my eye. This beautiful grass was sparkling in the sunshine and I knew I had to take pictures of it. A simple moment of happiness. Full of light and wonder.
